TEACHERS’ BELIEFS AND PRACTICES IN TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION

Abstract:
Should strengthen his or her ability to appropriately select and execute necessary reading comprehension strategies. Additionally, since Linnenbrink and Pintrich (2003) have established that instructional environment is linked to students’ development as readers, it is easy to understand why other researchers have found that readers with highly efficacious teachers are likely to be surrounded by environments that are conducive to suceessful reading comprehension strategy instruction (Allington, 2001; Henl: & Melnick, 1995).
