PEMANFAATAN RUMEN SAPI DAN JERAMI SEBAGAI PUPUK ORGANIK

ABSTRAK
Kegiatan Rumah Potong Hewan (RPH) setiap harinya akan menghasilkan limbah berupa feses, urine, isi rumen atau isi lambung, ceceran darah, air cucian, dan sisa pakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengkaji pengaruh komposisi bahan baku limbah padat RPH pada kualitas produk pupuk organik, 2) Mengkaji kualitas produk pupuk organik yang dibandingkan dengan baku mutu sesuai Peraturan Menteri Pertanian No. 70 tahun 2011 tentang Pupuk Organik, Pupuk Hayati, dan Pembenahan Tanah. Proses pengomposan dilakukan selama 50 hari. Variabel komposisi bahan baku rumen sapi dan jerami adalah: RK1 (100% rumen sapi), R1 (60% rumen sapi:40% jerami), R2 (50% rumen sapi:50% jerami), dan R3 (40% rumen sapi:60% jerami). Penelitian dilakukan secara duplo, sehingga dibutuhkan 8 buah reaktor standing drum dengan volume 120 L. Berat bahan baku yang digunakan pada masing-masing reaktor yaitu sebesar 20 kg. Sampel pupuk organik diambil setiap 10 hari sekali, dengan parameter yang diuji adalah rasio C/N, hara makro P, K, nilai pH, dan suhu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi komposisi bahan baku berpengaruh pada kualitas pupuk organik yang dihasilkan. Variasi terbaik adalah reaktor R3 (40% rumen sapi:60% jerami) dengan hasil rasio C/N= 15,00; P= 8,35%; K= 9,72%, pH= 6,79; dan suhu= 33,70oC, memenuhi baku mutu sebagai pupuk organik.

ABSTRACT
Slaughterhouse (SH) activities is produced waste in the form of feces, urine, rumen contents or gastric contents, spilled blood, washing water, and leftover feed everyday. This study aims to: 1) Assess the effect of RPH solid waste composition on the quality of organic fertilizer products, 2) Assess organic fertilizer products quality compared to quality standards according to Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 70 year 2011 concerning Organic Fertilizers, Biofertilizers, and Soil Improvement. The composting process is carried out for 50 days. Variable composition of raw materials for cattle rumen and straw are: RK1 (100% cattle rumen), R1 (60% cattle rumen:40% rice straw), R2 (50% cattle rumen:50% rice straw), and R3 (40% cattle rumen:60% rice straw). The research was conducted in duplicate, so that 7 standing drum reactors were needed with a volume of 120 L. The weight of the raw material used in each reactor was 20 kg. Organic fertilizer samples are taken once every 10 days, with the parameters tested being the C/N ratio, macro nutrients P, K, pH value, and temperature. The results showed that variations in the composition of raw materials had an effect on the quality of the organic fertilizer produced. The best variation is R3 reactor (40% cattle rumen:60% rice straw) with a C/N ratio= 15.00 ratio; P = 8.35%; K = 9.72%, pH = 6.79; and temperature = 33.70oC, meet quality standards as organic fertilizer according to the Minister of Agriculture RegulationNo. 70 year 2011.
